Teaching

In addition to my clinical and forensic work, I teach psychoanalysis, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, and mental health law and ethics locally, nationally, and internationally. Since 1995, I have taught two extension courses per year at the New Center for Psychoanalysis (NCP) where I also serve as senior faculty and training and supervising psychoanalyst. I have lectured at numerous local graduate schools including Alliant University, the Chicago School, and the Fuller Theological Seminary Graduate School of Psychology. Once a year, I teach a course in “the relational turn” to residents in psychiatry at UC Irvine. I also teach an annual, ten week course, by Skype, to students in China enrolled in the psychoanalytic program sponsored by the Chinese American Psychoanalytic Association. Most recently, I taught in Delhi and Ahmedabad, India.
